Year 10 and 11 Science
Year 10
Launching September 2020 a science program specifically aimed at Year 10 pupils. The course will focus on the revision and consolidation of topics taught in year 9, the first year of the GCSE course. The aim of the course is to support students, who due to unforeseen circumstances, were absent from school for part of the year and so their learning was disrupted. The sessions will therefore revise many of the topics taught in year 9 ensuring that pupils strengthen their understanding and knowledge of the topics taught in the first year of their GCSE course. This course will revise all three subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Our well received Year 11 GCSE courses commence in October. These courses focus on content, exam techniques and core practical skills. There will be ample opportunities for students to receive feedback and specific guidance in individual areas they feel need strengthening and support. The courses are suitable for students whose exam boards are AQA, Edexcel and OCR and the primary goal is to prepare students for their GCSE exams.
Each course is 7 weeks in length, with each session lastly 1 hour. We offer three courses with the first one focusing on biology, followed by chemistry and then finally physics. The aim is to reinforce pupils understanding and knowledge of the topics taught in Years 9 and 10 of the GCSE course. The students are grouped according to whether they are preparing for the Combined Science or Triple Science exams.
